For some time, it has been apparent that the Calgary Flames and defenseman Noah Hanifin might be parting ways before the March 8th trade deadline.
Hanifin, who will be an unrestricted free agent the following summer, is looking to join a team with better chances of contending, whereas the Flames are currently uncertain about their future direction.
David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period has reported that teams are aware Hanifin seeks a long-term deal, and he has been associated with potential moves to the Arizona Coyotes, Boston Bruins, and New Jersey Devils.
At 27, Hanifin is performing admirably this season and is on track to surpass his personal best in goals, a record he set with ten in both the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons.
This season, the Boston-born player has accumulated 25 points (comprising eight goals and 17 assists), 22 penalty minutes, and boasts a plus-ten rating in 45 games.
