The Montreal Canadiens lost their biggest acquisition of the summer in Patrik Laine a few games ago after he took a dirty knee on knee from Cedric Pare.

Most fans believed that Pare would be given a fine or a suspension for the hit but all he got was a beating from Laine's teammates. According to Laine, Pare called him following the hit and the news that he would be out for a few months stating that he was sorry for the hit.

Patrik Laine told us he made the last call and decided not to have a surgery on his left knee. Cedric Pare called him to say he's sorry about the hit, something Laine appreciated.

Laine also told the media that he does not blame Pare for the injury since he believes that he put himself in that bad situation and left his body vulnerable for a bad hit.

#Habs Patrik Laine says he doesn't blame #Leafs Paré for his injury; said he kind of put himself in a bad spot to begin with. Laine says Paré texted him afterwards and he respects him for that.

Despite the bad news that Laine will be out for the next couple of months, fans were happy to know that he would not need season ending surgery and should be able to fully recover by December.

Hopefully Laine will be back sooner than expected as most insiders had him having an incredible bounce back year in Montreal.
