Brandon Bussi essentially solidifies his fate with the Boston Bruins
After our Boston Bruins disappointed and fell flat to the Washington Capitals in their preseason finale last night (October 5th) the sole bright spot was rookie goalie Brandon Brandon Bussi.
The drama surrounding the goalie situation in Boston has been running rampant as star RFA goalie Jeremy Swayman has still remained to put pen to paper. With that, the opportunity for a goalie to compete for a roster spot is open, and with newcomer Joonas Korpisalo being named the starter for the regular season opener, it's a tight race between Brandon Bussi and the other prospect goalies for the back up position.
Has Brandon Bussi done enough?
From the start, the back up job was always Bussi's to lose, and with him getting the nod for the full 60-minutes in last night preseason finale against the Washington Capitals, he has proven that he should crack the NHL roster.
In last nights 2-0 loss, Bussi made 30 saves as the Bruins were outshot 32-17, continuing his upward trajectory after a slow start to camp.
