It was Reported earlier this morning (October 5th), where NHL insider Elliotte Friedman posted a tweet that indicated the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman were close to finalizing a deal. Just moments later, it was confirmed by the team.
The Boston Bruins posted on their X (Formally Twitter) a video of Swayman pulling up to TD Garden as the official announcement of him signing for 8 more years.
Now that Swayman is officially back, there is a whole new set of questions the Bruins need to answer. Swayman will 100% be there starter now for the regular season and Jonas Korpisalo, who was scheduled to be the go to guy, will be his back up. Brandon Bussi, who has looked great in camp and in preseason, will most likely have to go back to Providence and wait for an injury or earn a spot back.
Nonetheless, Swayman may not be ready come puck drop on Tuesday due to not participating in preseason or training camp, but that decision has not be officially made just yet.
