Jon Cooper is known for his passionate approach as a Head Coach, a trait highly appreciated by his players. His readiness to stand up for his team and players is well-recognized. However, tonight, it seems he went too far.

In the game against the Boston Bruins, Cooper's emotions got out of control. Following the Bruins' lead of 3-1 in the first period, Cooper completely lost his composure. Engaging with the referees, he became excessively agitated, gesticulating wildly and yelling loudly.

It was during this heated moment that Cooper inadvertently hit the referee's arm. This action was enough for the referee to make a decision. The penalty was immediately called against the Lightning due to their head coach's conduct.

Jon Cooper was just given a bench minor after the Bruins made it 3-1

It's difficult to imagine the NHL overlooking this incident and not considering a substantial fine for the head coach.
