After the game, head coach Jim Montgomery revealed that Pastrnak had been struggling with a bad illness before the game against the Maple Leafs but insisted he was fit to play.
According to Conor Ryan from Boston.com:
Despite shorter shifts from Montgomery because of the stomach bug, Pastrnak still found a way to make a significant impact. This season, he has collected 57 goals and 47 assists in 77 games.
What made him decide to play despite feeling unwell and the Bruins' current situation? Postgame, Pastrnak attributed it to the leadership of teammates like captain Bergeron.
Boston's 2-1 victory over Toronto marked their 61st of the season, placing them just two wins shy of the single-season record of 62 (set by DET in 1995-96 and TBL in 2018-19).
With four games left:
Saturday vs NJD
Sunday @ PHI
Tuesday vs WSH
