In a bittersweet moment for the hockey world, Swedish forward Carl Soderberg has officially retired from the sport after an illustrious 20-season career, with nine remarkable years spent in the NHL.

Throughout his journey, Soderberg cherished countless memories, most notably from his nearly 600 NHL games, his triumphant 2017 World Championship gold, and his formative years with Malmö, where it all began back in 2006.

Reflecting on his final game with Malmö in March, Soderberg expressed his emotional farewell, stating,

"I knew even then that it was my last match, but I still wanted to let it grow during the summer."

Having made a significant impact in the NHL, Carl Soderberg leaves behind an unforgettable legacy, with 597 games played and an impressive contribution of 297 points.

His remarkable journey began when the St. Louis Blues drafted him in 2004, and he later graced the ice with the iconic Boston Bruins starting in 2013. In a fitting conclusion to his career, Soderberg returned to his roots, spending his last two seasons with the Malmo Redhawks in Sweden.
