In the realm of hockey, Brad Marchand, the Bruins' leader, acknowledges the consistent excellence of Sidney Crosby, the Penguins' iconic player. Marchand, who has played alongside Crosby in Team Canada and competed against him in Boston-Pittsburgh games, ranks Crosby as one of the top players in the NHL.

Even though Crosby is now 36, Marchand argues that he doesn't get the recognition he should, often eclipsed by the league's younger talents. Marchand stresses that,

"I think he's still, I'll say, one of the best in the world, but he's not really getting the credit he deserves right now... he's by far the best player in the league."

Marchand also points out that Crosby's skill is not just about his performance on the ice; it comes from thorough preparation and a commitment to constantly enhancing his abilities throughout his career.

"The way he trains and takes care of himself and is always trying to get better is competitiveness, on and off the ice. It's just it's unmatched," Marchand added.

"He's created an environment for himself where he'll be able to play at that level for as long as he wants to."

Although Marchand and Crosby are of similar age, Crosby's extra four years in the NHL add to his seemingly eternal impact on the ice. Marchand credits Crosby's enduring career to his rigorous training regimen, diligent self-care, and unwavering dedication to enhancing his skills, fostering a setting for prolonged peak performance.

Speaking to Pat McAfee, Marchand highlighted the importance of the latest Boston-Pittsburgh clash, emphasizing its competitive stakes. In this encounter, Crosby's Penguins triumphed with a 6-5 victory. Marchand made a light-hearted remark about this outcome, noting,

"He's a humble guy. He doesn't rub it in too much. But he may take a shot every now and again. It's usually face-to-face that he does that."

Looking forward, Marchand and the Bruins are keenly awaiting a rematch with the Penguins on March 9 at TD Garden, ready to recapture their bragging rights in the continuing rivalry. The focal point of the news, centered on the result of the recent game and Marchand's playful exchanges with Crosby, is tactically positioned at the conclusion, building excitement for the forthcoming contest.
