This could lead to the Bruins making some splashes in the next few off seasons. One NHL insider recently reported as the Bruins as one of four teams to be interested in Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl. The Oilers superstar has been part of a deadly dup formed with Connor McDavid. The two of them have consistently found themselves at the top of the points race in the NHL.
Draisaitl's recent comment that he will be doing "What's Best for him" leads more to think that he will not be considering any hometown discounts to stay with McDavid and the Oilers. He has also revealed he is not interested in a short-term deal like Auston Matthews signed with the Leafs.
Wherever Draisaitl signs after the 24-25 season will surely alter the balance of power in the NHL. Only four teams right now seem to be in on this high price tag, but more could come in the next year. It will also add a lot of intrigue into Draisaitl being a rental player at next year's deadline.
