Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery revealed his reasoning for keeping injured players Matthew Poitras and Brandon Carlo out of the lineup on Thursday night against the Avalanche.
"Carlo and Poitras are trending the right way. Keeping them out tonight was more precautionary other than anything else."
The Bruins were able to defeat the Avalanche 5-2 Thursday in another epic performance from Jeremy Swayman against one of the league's top teams. David Pastrnak also secured a hat trick in the game.
The holding off on playing Poitras and Carlo is the Bruins showing their dedication to keeping players healthy and not playing them until they are 100 percent ready to be back in game action.
