2023 ended just the way the Bruins were hoping, by notching another win, their 3rd in a row since the Holiday Break. This win may have not been as pretty or dominating as their previous two, but once again the Bruins showed their ability to play a 60-minute game. This one got a little wild towards the end with three goals in the last two and half minutes (two empty net ones) with the teams going back and forth with the Red Wings Goalie pulled. Boston was able to pull this one out with two empty net goas by Jake Debrusk and Pavel Zacha.

Secondary scoring was once again vital with Trent Frederic picking up the first two goals of the game and an assist on the first empty net goal. Frederic was also a +4 on the night. Charlie Coyle scored his 3rd goal in three games. Jake Debrusk moves his point streak to three games after his rough patch to start the season, scoring an empty net goal while taking a hit along the boards. He also had three shots on goal and a +1 rating on the night, showing his confidence has come back in his game.
As it has been all season, the goaltending was brilliant with Jeremy Swayman getting the start in the second game of their weekend back-back. Swayman stopped 27 of 30 shots, keeping the Bruins in the game even after being outshot 30-24. The Bruins Swept their back-to-back Saturday and Sunday picking up four points and increased their point lead of Florida for first in the division to four points. Happy New Year Bruins Fans!
