In addition to the recent news on David Krejci, Friday morning's skate brought some updates about a pair of essential Bruins players.

Multiple sources reported that the Bruins were missing their top defenseman Charlie McAvoy and starting goalie Linus Ullmark during practice.

Just a Day Off or Injury-Related?

Fluto Shinzawa from The Athletic shared:

''Linus Ullmark and Charlie McAvoy are not participating in the AM skate.''

based on what head coach Jim Montgomery revealed after the game five overtime defeat, it seems more like a "staying fresh" strategy for the star defenseman.

''He's a horse back there, and he doesn't need a lot of rest. 20 seconds on the bench, and he's like a Clydesdale - you let him out of the barn again.''

Jim Montgomery

Since Ullmark has been the starting goalie for every game in the series, it's not surprising that he might sit out practice, which is quite normal for the 29-year-old.

We can likely attribute their absence to rest, as it's doubtful either player would miss a crucial game six in Florida.
