Despite the Bruins being criticized for having one of the weakest rookie groups in the NHL, a few of their prospects have certainly made a splash this season.

In particular, 19-year-old forward Matthew Poitras has made a name for himself, joining an exclusive group of players after an outstanding 2022-23 season with the Guelph Storm in the AHL.

Reinforcements Are Coming!

Bruins Network highlighted Poitras' notable achievement on Twitter:

From 2005-2006 onwards, only four U19 players in the OHL have managed to register 79 assists or more in a single season:

Dylan Strome (84)
Mitch Marner (82)
Marco Rossi (81)
Matthew Poitras (79)
That's some impressive company for Boston's talented young center.

Hailing from Ontario, Poitras was the Bruins' top pick in the 2022 Entry Draft, chosen in the second round (54th overall).

By the end of the season, Poitras had secured the second-highest number of assists (79) in the OHL and ranked sixth in points with 95.
