Lindholm recently commented that it has been difficult for him to block out all of the off the ice noise regarding his contract situation and potential trades. His play on the ice this season has certainly taken a turn for the worse with his production dropping. He has just eight goals halfway through the season after recording 64 goals in his last two season combined. His shooting percentage has taken a serious dive from 12.2% average down to 6.6% this year. Calgary is having a down season, meaning they will be looking to sell to contenders at the trade deadline, Lindholm will bring in the biggest return.
Earlier reports states that Lindholm was looking for a multiyear deal, with about a $9 million per year salary. That number seems to be ambitious considering his considerable drop in play this season. Lindholm and the Flames have not talked about an extension since last summer and it is becoming clearer that he and the Flames are on the verge of parting way.
With Lindholm clearer growing unhappy with his current situation, could the Bruins swoop in and grab him at the deadline? The addition of Lindholm would certainly boost Boston's already potent line up.
