Charlie McAvoy clearly showed some rust coming back from injury, finishing with a -2 rating on the night. Jake Debrusk continued to look lost, registering just one shot on goal on the night and held pointless for a 5th game and a 9th straight game without a goal. Their Special Teams were also off for the night, going 0-3 on the powerplay while allowing two goals while shorthanded.
The Bruins did find some momentum in the third, but it was too little too late as coming back from 4-0 in the third against goalie Connor Hellebuyck is a tall task. Jim Montgomery's decision to shuffle the lines tonight from the usually line up will be called into question, as the offense hasn't exactly been on a dry spell, other then an off night against one of the hottest teams in the league in the New York Rangers. While its time to hit the panic button as the Bruins are still comfortably atop the Atlantic standings, they desperately need to turn their play around to avoid getting overtaken by the competition behind them.
