Former Boston Bruins player Erik Haula has signed a lucrative three-year contract extension with the New Jersey Devils.

The deal includes a notable cap hit of $3.15 million. In the first year, Haula will earn a $2.9 million salary, a $1 million signing bonus, and full protection from trades.

The second year will see him earn a $2.15 million salary, another $1 million signing bonus, and full no-trade privileges.

In the third year, Haula will receive a $2.4 million salary and have the option to list six teams on his no-trade list.

His solid depth play is expected to contribute significantly to the Devils' ambitions for a deep playoff run.
