The most talked-about moment of the opening period came when a live microphone picked up referee Steve Kozari's 'intimidating' remarks directed at defenseman Brandon Carlo.
Carlo, who was on his way to the penalty box for a roughing minor alongside Sam Bennett, must have shared some provocative words with the official.
