While Linus Ullmark has been leading the race for the Vezina Trophy and boasts a 2-1 series advantage, could Jim Montgomery be considering Jeremy Swayman for the starting spot in game four?

Throughout the playoffs, Ullmark has achieved a 2-1 record, a 2.69 goals-against average, and a .921 save percentage, while Swayman has remained in the backup position for every game.

Deciding Who Starts

However, Fluto Shinzawa from The Athletic reports that Montgomery may be contemplating giving Swayman the nod in the upcoming fourth game.

''Jeremy Swayman is under consideration for Game 4, per Jim Montgomery. David Krejci is questionable. Krejci is not skating today.''

Ullmark's appearance in game three was somewhat unexpected, as the 29-year-old was only confirmed as the starting goalie shortly before the match commenced.

Regardless of who takes the net for Boston, both goaltenders have proven their worth. Swayman, aged 24, has been on an impressive streak since the beginning of 2023. In his 23 games, he has achieved a record of 17-3-1, a 2.03 GAA, a .932 SV%, and three shutouts.
