After personal struggles that led to the loss of his previous coaching position, Jim Montgomery is now experiencing success this season, attributing it to one important individual.

Montgomery and the Bruins are currently boasting a 54-11-5 record with only 12 games left, and when asked about his coaching style, Boston's head coach reminded everyone about its origin.

Family Is at the Heart of It All

Like most professional athletes, Montgomery gives credit for his achievements to his parents. He primarily learned his coaching methods from his mother, as he recently shared with the media:

''My glass is half full. I think I get that from my mom. I don't think she's ever had a bad day in her life.''

'I think as long as you're honest and you're fair delivering your news, whether it's a teaching moment or you're praising them, I think people always respect it.''

Despite the Bruins' comfortable position and their likelihood of winning the President's Trophy - unless they face a total breakdown - Montgomery is aware that there's always room for improvement.
