Which Goalie Gets the Nod?
Montgomery faces a crucial decision between Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman for the do-or-die game on Sunday evening at TD Garden.
The question of who should start in goal for game seven has ignited passionate debates among Bruins fans and media alike.
It's worth mentioning that much of the Bruins' success this season can be attributed to the stellar goaltending duo of Swayman and Ullmark, who clinched the William M. Jennings Trophy for conceding the fewest goals (177) during the regular season.
Yet, the soon-to-be Vezina Trophy recipient hasn't been his usual self in this series.
Whether it's due to an underlying issue or an inability to handle the pressure, Ullmark's performance has been subpar compared to his regular-season form. The 29-year-old currently sits at 3-3, with a 3.33 GAA and a .896 SV%. Far from ideal.
A Missed Opportunity
I still believe Swayman should have started game five when the Bruins had a 3-1 series lead heading back to Boston after two impressive road victories.
It would have given Ullmark a much-needed break, and even if they didn't win, it would have likely led to a stronger performance from the Swede in game six.
But, there's no use dwelling on the past. All we can do now is hope for a better outcome in game seven than what we've witnessed in the last two games.
