Alex Chiasson's presence, although on a trial basis with the Bruins, has already grabbed the attention of coach Montgomery.

Montgomery is actively considering a significant role for the 32-year-old forward, placing him at the forefront of the team's second power-play unit. Montgomery elaborated, saying,

"I couldn't help but notice the impact Chiasson had in Detroit's power play when positioned at the net front during our past matchups. He possesses the potential to excel in a specific role that could greatly benefit our team."

Last season, Chiasson's journey led him to secure an NHL contract with Detroit. He began the year with an AHL contract alongside their Grand Rapids affiliate. As the regular season reached its closing stages, Chiasson's impact reverberated as he notched six goals and nine points in just 20 games. A noteworthy feat was that seven of these points were tallied during power plays, showcasing his proficiency in this crucial aspect of the game.
