Even though he's appeared in over 1,000 games, Brad Marchand stepped beyond his usual role and served as Boston's temporary captain during games three and four in Florida. Marchand has not only contributed offensively with three goals and one assist in the series, but he has also guided the Bruins behind the scenes.
Despite his typically composed demeanour, Marchand acknowledged that he was not as at ease as he appeared. Before game three, he shared the following thoughts with the media:
Marchand wasn't the sole force propelling Boston to consecutive road victories, as he highlighted the team's collective effort strategy. He specifically mentioned the exceptional performances of Nick Foligno, Charlie Coyle, David Pastrnak, and Charlie McAvoy.
He went on to say:
