Patrice Bergeron told reporters that he is at peace with his decision and currently has no plans to come back. The Bruins have had a remarkable start to the season, boasting 13 victories and just one loss in regulation in 17 games since the beginning of the campaign. This record has propelled the team to the top of the overall standings.

Bergeron mentioned that he attended a game of the team he spent his entire career with. Even though the 38-year-old retiree admitted that the feeling was strange and that he occasionally misses the game, he emphasized that he made the right decision.

"I wasn't sure how I was going to handle the whole situation,» Bergeron told Keith Irizarry of NHL Network. «I knew it was time for me to step away. Take care of my body and future but also my family."

During his break from hockey, Bergeron has explored new activites to keep himself active, taking recommendations from Zedno Chara.

"I've tried a lot of things lately," Bergeron stated. "I've tried tennis. I've tried soccer. Zdeno (Chara) has tried to get me to run some marathons with him. I don't know if I'm ready for that yet."
