REPORT: Bruins supposed to sign prospect
In 2019, the Boston Bruins made a smart move by drafting Matias Mäntykivi in the sixth round. Although he hasn't signed with the team yet, Mäntykivi has been impressing in the Liiga Champions Hockey League (LCHL) with Tampereen Ilves.
As a top-5 drafted European player, Mäntykivi's talent is evident. He had a breakout season last winter with 31 points and followed it up with an impressive 33 points in 60 regular season games this year. In the postseason, he showcased his skills with 3 goals, 9 assists, and 12 points in just 12 games.
