Before making his mark in the NHL, Jimmy Hayes honed his skills at Boston College University in the NCAA. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
Throughout his career, he contributed to various teams. He spent three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, two with the Florida Panthers, two with the Boston Bruins, and his final year with the New Jersey Devils in 2018. In a total of 334 games, Jimmy Hayes recorded 54 goals and 55 assists, amounting to 109 points.
