Nemec Slams Marchand in On-Ice Clash
Brad Marchand, known for his intense style, attempted to initiate rookie Simon Nemec into the league.
The confrontation intensified along the boards when Marchand tried to complete his check on the newcomer, but Nemec seized him by the neck.
Nemec, only 19, grabbed the Bruins' captain, placing him in a headlock and forcefully bringing him down to the ice. Fortunately, both players were uninjured and the game continued as usual. Unfortunately, no penalties were called.
All-Star Swayman Spoils the Devils' Chances
Despite the intense incident involving Marchand, the Bruins secured a 3-0 victory, thanks to All-Star goalie Jeremy Swayman's first impressive 31-save shutout.
Both Marchand and David Pastrnak were pivotal, contributing two points each, as the Bruins enhanced their record to 27-8-9 this season.
The Devils faced continued challenges, particularly noticeable when Jack Hughes doesn't score. Nico Daws made a commendable 33 saves during the game. The injury-plagued Devils aim for a turnaround in their upcoming game against the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night. The Bruins will host the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday at TD Garden.
