The Colorado Avalanche suffered a major blow as Gabriel Landeskog announced he will miss the upcoming season, marking his second consecutive year without playing. With a void to fill in their top-six forward group, the Avalanche have set their sights on Tyler Bertuzzi.

While the Boston Bruins aim to retain Bertuzzi, their limited salary cap space and other pending free agents pose challenges. It is widely speculated that Bertuzzi will explore the market, presenting an opportunity for Colorado to pursue him as a replacement for Landeskog.

Bertuzzi showcased his capabilities this season, posting 30 points in 50 games between the Detroit Red Wings and Bruins. Despite early-season injuries hindering his performance, he excelled after joining Boston, tallying 26 points in 28 games (regular season and playoffs). Adding his production to Colorado's top six would provide a significant boost.

As the offseason progresses, the question remains whether the Avalanche can secure Bertuzzi's services.
