Jeremy Swayman displayed a cheerful demeanor following the Bruins' fifth consecutive victory, yet there was a hint of regret intertwined with his happiness.

During an early third-period attempt to send the puck down the boards, Swayman unintentionally struck a referee with the puck near Boston's goal. The game was momentarily halted as the referee collapsed on the ice, receiving immediate attention from Swayman and Charlie McAvoy before play continued at TD Garden.

Following his impressive 21-save showing against the Winnipeg Jets, the All-Star goalie offered an apology for the mishap and conveyed his concern for the referee's well-being.

"I felt so bad, I hit a boy in stripes tonight. I felt so bad," Swayman said after the game. "We were laughing the whole game together. He's gonna have a nice bruise by the NHL logo on his shoulder. I told him I've been there, though. I really feel bad. So, sorry, bud."

Luckily for Swayman, the mishap with the referee was among the rare drawbacks on Monday night. The Bruins aim to maintain their momentum on Wednesday when they welcome the Carolina Hurricanes.
