Mathew Poitras continues to turn heads at the Bruins' training camp, and his performance carried into Sunday night's first preseason game. The 19-year-old showcased his skills with a power-play goal and an assist.

After the game, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery commented on the 2022 second-round pick, suggesting that it would be a "pleasant surprise" if Poitras made the opening night roster. Montgomery acknowledged the challenges, noting,

"It's a big challenge because it's a man's league out there. He didn't see any NHL tonight."

If Poitras doesn't secure an NHL roster spot, he's slated to return to the Guelph Storm for his third OHL season. In his previous season, he tallied an impressive 95 points, including 79 assists, in 63 games with the Storm.
