The Bruins joined NHL history by recording their 60th win on Sunday, but Wayne Gretzky didn't hesitate to express his thoughts about them during the NHL on TNT intermission.

As the best hockey player ever, Gretzky understands the significance of the Bruins' accomplishments. Yet, he raises the question: Will all of it be useless if they don't win the Stanley Cup?

Gretzky Believes So

Since 2021, Gretzky has frequently contributed as an analyst on the NHL on TNT panel and was present during the broadcast of the Bruins vs. Blues game on Sunday. Joe Haggerty from Boston Hockey Now reported Gretzky's words of praise for the team:

''This team is playing a good hockey club every single night. There's no days off; there's no nights off, every game is hard. What they're doing to me in this year is absolutely amazing.''

Nonetheless, Gretzky believes it's a "Cup or Nothing" situation for Jim Montgomery's team this season:

''Listen, it's almost like you feel bad for them if they don't win the Stanley Cup because they've done so many good things for the game, and they've played so unselfishly, and they're so much fun to watch, you know, you almost feel mad if they don't win the Stanley Cup.''

Gretzky's point is valid, as it would be a significant letdown if the Bruins don't win the Cup, but this season will always be special. As they are only three wins and eight points shy of becoming the best team in NHL history.
