Both players possess exceptional skills in their respective areas, and the argument seems destined to endure indefinitely. Recently, during his stint as an analyst for TNT at FLA Live Arena, Gretzky shared an intriguing anecdote about the legendary Boston Bruins defenseman, Bobby Orr.
Gretzky recalled how Orr would often use minimal or no tape on his stick blade. In a broadcast quoted by Bleacher Report, Gretzky revealed,

While the NHL has yet to introduce such an award, the Central Hockey League (CHL) honors Orr through the Bobby Clarke Award.
The Bobby Orr Trophy, previously known as the CHL Most Valuable Defenseman Award, has been bestowed since the 1979�80 CHL season. This prestigious accolade pays tribute to the Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman, Bobby Orr.
