If you step back and look at the Bruins season, you would say it has been a massive success considering expectations going into the season were the lowest they have been in years. The loss of stars like Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Taylor Hall would cripple a lot of teams. This is a team with a winning culture and has made it once again to the top of the standings.

There is one stat however that the Bruins should be embarrassed at, and need to correct as soon as possible. The Bruins are 25-1-7 in games in which they have a lead after 2 periods. That .758 winning percentage is at the bottom of the league with the likes of the Coyotes, Blackhawks and Sharks, all teams that have packed it in on this season and are looking towards next year.

The Bruins have been terrible in the overtime period/the shootout with 12 losses which is top three in the league. Besides that, they need to find a way to hold onto third period leads. That comes with discipline, not sitting back and letting teams back in games. They need to start to put the hammer down and not give teams hope of a comeback. Playing a full 60 minutes is something coaches preach all the time and head coach Jim Montgomery needs to find a way to get his team to play a full game. Games are decided many times in the third period, and it's a period the Bruins are not playing good hockey during. This could be the one thing that leads to an early exit and another wasted season in Boston.
