Per NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, The Blues submitted an offer sheet with a massive offers to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway this morning (Tuesday August 13th, 2024). The Oilers will have exactly 7 days to either match the offer to keep them or forfeit their rights to the Blues.
The conversation about offer sheets have created speculation and insecurities about what will happen if Swayman gets offered a big number that the Bruisn can't match.
For those who do not know what an offer sheet is or how it works.
But according to Boston Hockey Now, there is nothing to really worry about in this case. Due to the caliber and expected value Jeremy Swayman will get, if he is offer sheeted and the Bruins catch match, the team will be in a good spot. A team will have to give up two first-round picks, a second-round pick, and a third-round pick. But even more than that, there are a very limited amount of teams that even have that kind of repertoire to deal so the chances of Swayman leaving due to an offer sheet is very slim.
