Boston Bruins face uphill battle with their star goalie gone
The era of the 1A/1B goalie tandem is in full swing, and with RFA Jeremy Swayman remaining unsigned and with the team trading away Linus Ullmark, the Boston Bruins are facing major challenges this season.
It did not come as a major shock that the Bruins traded away Linus Ullmark earlier in the offseason as they were fully investing in their future with Jeremy Swayman as their #1 goalie. But with the ongoing negations at a stalemate, fans are wondering why the team would make such a big move with out a guarantee Swayman would sign.
With out a full season as the #1 guy in net under his belt, trusting Swayman is still somewhat a risk as a big part of the teams success over the past 3 season has been due to the tandem of Vezina winning goalie Ullmark and youngster Sway.
Nonetheless, there will be an adjustment period that the team will have to go through, it will be interesting to watch Swayman respond to being the go to guy with Ullmark gone. But before that bridge is crossed, Gm Don Sweeny and the Bruins needs to lock him up, or else they are in real big trouble.
