Among the UFA are forwards Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, Pat Maroon, James van Riemsdyk and Jayson Megna. With multiple departures, the Bruins are expected to make some significant additions to their forwards.
The team has a good amount of cap space for the first time in several years allowing them to target the real positions where they have important needs. While adding a top-six center and a top-six winger are their first goals, the Bruins need to improve their bottom six also. One player they should focus on is the Colorado Avalanche forward Brandon Duhaime. He was on the Bruins radar before being traded to the Avalanche by the Minnesota Wild at the deadline later this season. With their need for a player who has his qualities on the fourth line, it wouldn't be surprising if the Bruins want to sign him
The Bruins bottom six could benefit from a guy who has some grit like him. Duhaime recorded 208 hits in 80 games this season, this total is split between the Wild and Avalanche since he was traded. His physical presence would make the Bruins more challenging to play against.
