Matt Gryzelcyk was ejected from Saturday night's 3-0 Bruins loss to the Capitals for Spearing Capitals player Max Pacioretty. The NHL has handed down Grzelcyk's punishment after the infraction.

The NHL announces that Matt Grzelcyk has been fined $5,000 for spearing Max Pacioretty during Saturday's game.

The $5,000 fine for Gryzelcyk seems a little light in comparison with previous suspensions handed down. This punishment further shows the inconsistency with the Player Safety Department. There does not seem to be rhyme or reason as to who gets more serious punishments to those who get off easy. Bruins fans will be happy to see with the light punishment as Bruins player Trent Frederick took a similar shot from Capitals Alex Ovechkin that went unpenalized.

Itis yet to be seen if Ovechkin's infraction goes reviewed or not.
