Bruins Make Surprising Announcement Regarding JVR

The Bruins announced today that they will celebrating James Van Riemsdyk's 1,000th career NHL game on March 16th when they host the Flyers at TD Garden.

Van Riemsdyk has had an impressive career spanning 3 teams: Toronto, Philadelphia and Boston. The celebration will take place before puck drop with two of the three teams he played for present.

JVR has had an impressive career thus far with 629 points through 999 games. He is also currently having a solid season with the Bruins with 38 points in 55 games with an 11 +/- rating.
