On this date in 2013, the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars were involved in a 7-player Blockbuster trade that sent Star forward Tyler Seguin to Dallas.

The Bruins would send 21-year-old phenom, Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley, and Ryan Button to the Stars for Reilly Smith, Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, and Joe Morrow.

Seguin would be the most notable player in the trade as he has put up almost a point-per-game in Dallas. Now, 33-years-old, he has had up and down years but still remains a core piece to their lineup.
At the time of the Bruins-Stars swap in 2013, most anyone would have said the return was uneven, a definite win for Dallas. That came with caveats, however, with the potential for Eriksson, Smith, and Morrow to become fixtures of the Bruins' lineup as the one way for Boston to win some portion of the trade. Four years later, though, a bad deal looks worse, and as Seguin continues to succeed with the Stars, the Bruins are now officially left without any trace of arguably their most significant trade of the past decade.

Loui Eriksson would only play 3 season for the B's and was never the player he was when he played for the Stars. He accumulated 62 Goals and 85 Assists in 224 Games.
