Recent news has revealed that the Carolina Hurricanes do not intend on keeping their center Martin Necas. Since then, Necas who would be a free agent, has become a coveted player by other teams in the NHL.
While that is a possibility, that is still not something that is set in stone and Don Sweeney will now have to consider if this trade deal is worth the cost mentioned and if Martin Necas is worth keeping in the long run. The Bruins have room in their salary cap for Necas and to some this should be a no brainer, but the choice still lies in Carolina's hands and the highest bidder as several other teams consider Necas this summer.
