Boston Bruins former player Blake Wheeler played with the Bruins for a total of four seasons between 2008 and 2011 before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets between 2011 and 2023 where he played for thirteen seasons before being traded again to the New York Rangers between 2023 and 2024. Wheeler has played with the New York Rangers for one season.
After the end of this last season with the New York Rangers, Wheeler was asked by the media if he would be returning next season and his response certainly sounded like a no.
Even though Wheeler's response sounds like it's a straight up no, nothing has been confirmed by Wheeler or the New York Rangers yet. One thing is for certain fans will be watching Wheeler closer as this story continues to develop.
Wheeler has not won any Stanley Cups with any of the teams he has been on and suffered injuries last season which kept him from playing the majority of the playoff games. Wheeler has been in 1,172 NHL games and scored 321 goals along with 622 assists totaling 943 points during his career.
Whatever Wheeler decides to do, he has had a great career to date and has a lot to be thankful for. May he continue to be blessed in all of his future endeavors in any decision he decides to make.
