According to reports from NHL insider Frankie Corrado, Former Boston Bruins James Van Riemsdyk could be eyeing to sign with their biggest rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The idea was presented by Corrado on the TSN 1050's Overdrive show when he made a point by saying it could be a very good fit for their bottom-6 forward group and a cheap cost. Also, JVR's familiarity with the team from previously playing there would be a big positive.

JVR is past his prime being 35-years-old, but he had a fairly decent season wit the Boston Bruins last season scoring 11 goals and 27 assists for 28 points in 71 games. His versatility to be moved up and down the lineup is his biggest upside, as he can play in the top-6, bottom-6, powerplay and even penalty kill.

If the Maple Leafs make a run this season for the Stanley Cup, having JVR could be massive benefit when they run into injuries.

Do you think this would be a good move by the Leafs?
