During game 4 last night, Panthers forward Sam Bennett scored a controversial goal to tie the game up after pushing Charlie Coyle onto Jeremy Swayman.
Jim Montgomery spoke to the media about the goal and the NHL's decision to keep the call on the ice as a good goal. The Bruins head coach said that explanation given to him was bad and not accurate as they stated the play didn't interfere with the goal.
#NHLBruins Jim Montgomery:
«Toronto ruled that it was a good goal. The play didn't interfere with the goal that was the explanation I got...We thought Coyle was on top of our goaltender and if Coyle was able to stand his ground, he could've cleared the puck.»
Clearly Montgomery was not pleased with the decision or the explanation as nothing seemed to make any sense.
