Leafs vs Bruins

If the standings hold, the NHL is in for a great first round matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins. The mutual hate for both teams was apparent tonight as the Leafs were on the road in Beantown.

The tension rose early on when the whistle went behind the Leafs net and Leafs defender Jake McCabe decides to cross check Brad Marchand in the face.

This led to a chaotic scene where many players were pushing and shoving trying to get to McCabe as the captain laid on the ice. The Bruins made the Leafs pay for the double penalty as the Bruins went up 1-0 shortly after.

The Maple Leafs have had a tough time with the Bruins this year as they have lost all their games against the team. During their last match up in Toronto, there were long stretches that the Bruins held control and the Leafs could not set up their game.

The rivalry between these two is always intense and we've just seen the tip of the iceberg of what may come in April.
