Leafs Defenseman has Been Fined for Dirty Hit on Marchand

Thursday night's game between the Leafs and Bruins was a heated battle in which resulted in two fines being handed out.

Leafs blueliner Jake McCabe has been fined 5,000$, the maximum fine allowed under the CBA, for cross-checking Bruins captain Brad Marchand.

"A Maple Leafs defenseman was fined the maximum amount allowable for cross-checking Bruins captain Brad Marchand."


The play happened in the first period, McCabe first cross-checked DeBrusk then followed that up by going after Marchand next.

"Jake McCabe with back-to-back high cross checks on Jake DeBrusk and Brad Marchand."


Bruins Charlie Coyle also received a fine for cross-checking, former Bruins Tyler Bertuzzi.
