Mason Lohrei has been called up a few times this season to the NHL, while having an impressive year in Providence with 13 points in 17 games.
Due to recent injuries on the back-end, Lohrei received the call Tuesday afternoon and played his first game back in the NHL against the Oilers Wednesday night.
Lohrei did not let fans down by having an impressive night with 3 assists including a beautiful drop pass to Pastrnak that ended up in the back of the net.
The 23 year-old finished the night with 3 assists, a 2 +/- rating and 23:32 minutes of ice-time. He attributed his success to the fact that he has been able to get quite a few games under his belt this season and that the coaches have been working with him to help him feel more comfortable out there.
It will be interesting to see how the young defenseman does the rest of the season.
