After a fantastic first half of the season by the Bruins, the team has been sputtering since the All Stars break with a record of 4-4-5 along with many questionable performances and terrible starts.

After today's 5-1 loss to the New York Islanders, head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to NESN and gave his brutally honest take of what needs to be done going forward.

"Our execution was pretty poor to start the game"

Jim Montgomery on their performance in the loss against New York

A team who is finding trouble with consistency at this stage in the season certainly brings in heir of caution. There's also the possibility that the trade deadline which is less than seven days away could weighing on some of the players as the Bruins have been an aggressive team at the deadline in years past.

Montgomery will have to go back to the drawing board with his team to figure out why the Bruins are having their recent struggles. They will certainly need to review other games to find out if they need to make some changes to their lineup or try to motivate their players as the doldrums of the season begin to set in.

The schedule over the next week will not be getting any easier for the Bruins as they will be playing four games in seven days including two against the Maple Leafs and one against the Oilers.
