NHL Insider Confirmed Bruins Looking to Trade for this Veteran Star
The Fourth Period has reported that the Bruins and Sabres have been in contact for potential trade talks. The Bruins have interest in forwards Kyle Okposo and Zemgus Girgensons.
Okoposo is the name that people will recognize for his prolific goal scoring from his days with the Ney York Islanders. He would bring a veteran presence to a young locker room and a 269-goal scorer. He would definitely add secondary scoring, and not have the pressure of needing to score every night. He is on an expiring contract and has a cap hit of $2.5 Million, same as Girgensons.
The Bruins have next to no cap space, even with the cap relief of Matt Poitras being injured. A corresponding move will need to be done in order to get under the cap, this is where Jake DeBrusk would most likely come in.
The Bruins are searching far and wide to improve their team which is one of the best in the league and feel needs to keep up with the competition.
