Accroding to reports GM Don Sweeneyw as trying to close a deal with defenseman Matt Grzelcyk but was stolen by the Penguins.
Grzelcyk was offered a 1 year 2.75 million contract from the Penguins which was probably bigger than what Sweeney was offering which is why he took it.
