Last Tuesday, the Canucks revealed that former Bruins player Phil Kessel would be joining the organization by practicing with the AHL affiliate in Abbotsford. Kessel played 82 games last season with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. He scored 14 goals and 22 assists. However, he only played in 4 playoff games. Kessel has won his 3rd Stanley Cup.
Since that time, Kessel has not participated in any games. Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced his arrival in Vancouver, leading some enthusiasts to rush to the nearest airport with the aspiration of spotting him.
The Canucks have been diligently working to construct an optimal team for a significant Stanley Cup push. Through distinct transactions with the Calgary Flames, Vancouver secured defenseman Nikita Zadorov and executed a major trade to bring in forward Elias Lindholm.
Incorporating Kessel, who seems to be fit, offers the Canucks an additional choice among their wingers and contributes seasoned expertise for a possible quest for the Cup. The last time the Canucks reached the Stanley Cup finals, they were defeated by the Boston Bruins.
