There has been a lot of buzz surrounding retirement rumors with Brad Marchand, and if he is to continue playing, what would a contract extension look like?
It has become part of the Bruins culture that in order to win and have a shot at the Stanley Cup every year, players must take home town discounts in order to spread the wealth, Brad Marchand is no stranger to this fact. His last deal, which was signed in 2016, saw an AAV of $6.125 Million, well under what he is worth as a player and teammate.
But if the Bruins are to enter a small rebuild or have no shit at winning, will he still decide to take a discount to stay as the Bruins Captain, or will he move on?
